Ravggon
Ravggon is a folk rock band from Vuohču and Oulu. Ravggon is a reindeer in line that obeys no one.
The band released their new album, Gapmu (English: instinct, premonition), on Sámi National Day 2024.
On the new album, Ravggon’s music has changed from previous acoustic folk-pop to a rougher, heavier and even experimental direction. The compositions have been inspired by hazy memories, strivings, and the fear of what happens to nature and us when nothing is enough. Guhtur Niillas Rita Duomis was the producer of the new album.
Ravggon released their debut album, Ráji ravddas, in 2016, and has toured in Sápmi, Finland and abroad. In 2015, Ravggon participated in the Sámi Grand Prix singing competition in Gouvdageaidnu, on the Norwegian side of Sápmi, and reached third place.
