Ijahis idja concert was viewed on 650 devices

Ijahis idja festival’s livestream concert was viewed on 650 devices around the world. The concert was aired on 15th of August 2020 from Inari, Sámi Cultural Centre Sajos. Rap-artist Ailu Valle, Gájanas band and yoik artists Iŋgá-Máret Gaup-Juuso and Juha Tornensis performed in the concert. Artists were also interviewed between the gigs.

In the theme part ”Ijahis idja for the Great Fells of Käsivarsi” a support video produced by Ijahis idja was shown for the first time. The video visualized the meaning of the area for the traditional livelihoods and people living there. Furthermore, there was a discussion concerning the topic.

The broadcast was hosted by Aslak Paltto and Anna Näkkäläjärvi-Länsman.

Concert was organized in collaboration by Ijahis idja festival, Anára Sámisearvi ry, Sámi Music Centre of the Sámi Parliament in Finland, Sámi Cultural Centre Sajos and Sámi Education Centre.
